If you had your UMB throttled, can you reply and confirm? Is there any way to go around the throttling?

It seems that UMB has been throttled more as of late. Fortunately, if you are using UMB for what it is intended, you will notice little difference from before.

Yes. Now a bout 250kb... Slow but usable
At the price point this seems fair

Just tested right away used SpeedTest.net. I got 6.01Mbps download and 1.05Mbps upload and ping time is 87ms. It seems good.

i think throttle was lifted this afternoon, when i noticed that my data stopped working altogether while my signal strength was at max. went into airplane mode then connected again after i got fed up. speedtest was then posted at 4.4/18Mbps Down/Up around 3:50pm EST. 7.5/26 Down/Up as of 5:30pm EST.

yay/nay? is this a sign of SO moving along with their new data scheme?

It seems that UMB has been throttled again since a few days ago. Has anyone experience the same?

Either that or the network is really congested. But more than likely, Rogers has been throttling. They have been for a while now. When it is throttled, you can do a speedtest, the speed is always steady around 300kbps download.

I don't mind if UMB is throttled at 300-500 kbps but I wish they open all ports.

It is nice to have megabit speed but with the current pricing, I rather pass.

On Speedtest, I only get 180 to 230 kbps. No matter what time it is, It is always constant. I can live with 300 to 500 kbps, but the speed I get is a bit frustrating.

Speedtest get about 200 kps up and down all time. So yes, it does seem significantly slower now.

I have been getting the same 200 to 240 kbps down 100 to 150 up for the last 10 days.

U/L to FB and Flickr regularly time out .

Before the last week of august it was running in the 500's

It was nice while it lasted (Had nice UMB for 2 yrs)

In the K-W area of Ont.

I too was experiencing speeds in the 200-250MB down range. I called 611 and asked them to reset the internet connection for my number. I was asked to leave the phone off for 10 minutes, then try again. Speeds dramatically increased.
