I have a question. Let's say I bought a $100 card and loaded it. At the end of one year I have $10 left. Will this amount carry over if I reload the phone again next year?

yes, your balance gets carried forward when you reload. I just reloaded with $25, before I had $50+ in my balance and now after I reloaded. I have $75+ in it. The expiry date is 365 days after my reload (I think Aug 25, 2008)
The only time you would lose your balance is if your account expired before you reload

I have never had a cell and like what i see at 7-11 speakout. Today i went to a store and saw all the phone cards offering 3 c / m. Could i use these cards with a 7-11 phone?

I realize this is a beginner question

I don't see why you couldn't use those cards for making cheap long distance calls but remember that all calls, including to the phone card's access number, incur SpeakOut's standard 20¢/min air time charge. So, using a phone card you could make LD calls for 23¢/min instead of SpeakOuts 30¢/min (or higher overseas.)
