Hi

I'm travelling to Canada, namely BC, Seattle, Alaska, and Quebec and was wondering if I could purchase a pre paid cell phone whilst there that would work in all of these areas. The 7/11 speakout phones look like the rught thing. Your views?

SpeakOut Canada and SO US are two separate entities, with no roaming in each other's territory, so you'd have to get a phone/SIM/airtime in each country.

Another alternative, especially if you arrive in the US first, is to get a T-Mobile or AT&T phone/SIM/airtime. The advantage is that this will roam in Canada, albeit at somewhat higher airtime rates.

One more thing: check out GSM coverage maps for places like Alaska. There may not be much up there.
