        	        	<description><![CDATA[<p>SpeakOut Canada and SO US are two separate entities, with no roaming in each other's territory, so you'd have to get a phone/SIM/airtime in each country. </p>
<p>Another alternative, especially if you arrive in the US first, is to get a T-Mobile or AT&#38;T phone/SIM/airtime. The advantage is that this will roam in Canada, albeit at somewhat higher airtime rates.</p>
<p>One more thing: check out GSM coverage maps for places like Alaska. <a href="http://www.gsmworld.com/cgi-bin/ni_map.pl?cc=us&#38;net=be" target="_blank">There may not be much up there</a>.</p>
