I do not have that specific phone, but if it like my 1208, it is buried in a nest of menus, making it utterly useless for your purpose. You may be able to edit your welcome screen to add the phone number there when you look at the screen.

At worst, you can put yourself on your phone list, naming yourself neals 555-5555 on the contact list.
