Well looks like you can put a speakout simcard into a rogers phone and it will work.
Did anyone tried putting a speakout simcard in a fido phone ?
I had a fido phone but I had it unlocked, a motorola v360. I went to a store called orange wave or something like that in granville and 64th. They did it in 5 mins, it costs me 10 bucks that was 1 year ago so not sure if its still the same price.
obviously since speakout is GSM it will only work on a fido or rogers phone which are all GSM. So speakout wont work on Bell, Virgin, President Choice, Telus and other CDMA phones.

SpeakOut SIM + locked Fido phone = No go.

An exception is the Nokia E62 (Fido or Rogers versions), which works with both Fido and Rogers SIMs. Thus, SpeakOut SIM will work with a Fido E62.

The second link on that post has the most selection, including the 2610:

Just bought a 2610. How do I tell if it's locked or not? I've seen conflicting info on whether the 2610s are locked or not.

I don't have any other phone or sims to try it with.

If you do the online unlock as above, do you choose Rogers, since 7/11 isn't on the dropdown lists?

I have the same 2 questions as the above poster, except I have a 6061 from 7-11 (bought in early Sept).
Thanks

From what I know, you either have to put in a SIM card from a different service or hook your phone up to your computer and run some weird software (the procedure for the latter varies greatly depending on the phone).

For those who may be looking to have their cell phone unlocked professionally in Mississauga, there is phone store "SS Cell Phone Centre" at Rathburn & Tomken... have good price. You may have to leave your phone for one or two days.
