I used to have UMB working on my iphone 4, but when they switched to the new data I cancelled. Decided to give it a try and was not having success with the various settings described here. http://www.unlockit.co.nz/ worked for me!

Unlockit.co.nz failed on my iPhone 3G. It says "Profile failed to install. The UUID pr the profile "APN carrier settings" is not unique."
Any idea what that means? Am I out of luck on my old phone?
APN: Rogers-core-appl1.apn
Oh, it means I must delete the old Speakout APN, then have the website install the new. And restart iPhone (hold both buttons down until it powers off). Working now, still slow.

A question , really not about a cellphone but a wireless access point. Am I right in thinking that these settings are not exclusive to a cellphone and can be used for any other device?
From a previous post.
“In order to access the new SpeakOut data plans, program your device with the following settings:
APN: rogers-core-appl1.apn
MMSC: http://mms.gprs.rogers.com
MMS Proxy: mmsproxy.rogers.com
MMS Port: 80
APN Type: Default
APN Protocol: IPv4/IPv6
APN Roaming Protocol: IPV4/IPv6

Just in case anyone is wondering, I just successfully enabled data on my iPhone 6 using the following settings:
In the iPhone Config Utility:
1. Under General - Identifier: mms.gprs.rogers.com
2. Under APN or Advanced - APN: rogers-core-appl1.apn
3. Under APN or Advanced - Proxy Server - mmsproxy.rogers.com
4. Under APN or Advanced - Proxy Port - 80
Then I simply plugged in my phone and installed it. It didn't work at first but I restarted my phone and the 3G signal came on!

Just to let everyone know, I was able to work my iphone 5s locked to rogers with a speakout sim.
