So far I've had no luck getting my iPhone 5 working for data on Speakout. I moved my SIM from my MotoE to my unlocked iPhone (was on Rogers). I tried unlockit.co.nz, downloaded and installed the APN, but no data.

It's getting late. I'll try again tomorrow.

Just in case anyone is wondering, I just successfully enabled data on my iPhone 6 using the following settings:

In the iPhone Config Utility:
1. Under General - Identifier: mms.gprs.rogers.com
2. Under APN or Advanced - APN: rogers-core-appl1.apn
3. Under APN or Advanced - Proxy Server - mmsproxy.rogers.com
4. Under APN or Advanced - Proxy Port - 80

Then I simply plugged in my phone and installed it. It didn't work at first but I restarted my phone and the 3G signal came on!

Just to let everyone know, I was able to work my iphone 5s locked to rogers with a speakout sim.

Plug in your phone and follow the on-screen instructions.
I didn't even need to reboot my phone, it worked immediately!

I shared your struggles in trying to get the new data to work – loaded and reloaded numerous configuration profiles and doing the reset network thing. I too could not get the iPhone to pick up the APN automatically so am also confused on how others were so "lucky".

Someone posted this on rfd but note they are using a Android:
2. The reason I was having problems connecting is that SO's APN settings as posted on their website are incorrect, at least for my phone (a rooted Galaxy Nexus.) When I switched to Data and rebooted my phone I got a new Robbers APN, rogers-core-appl1.apn, automatically. That one worked for me. The APN settings I had been trying are the ones SO posts on their site in their FAQ. They are slightly different and don't work for me. In particular SO's APN specifies an MMS Proxy of mmsproxy.rogers.com rather than Robbers' 10.128.1.69. For some reason the former doesn't work for me but the explicit IP address does.

I'm not gonna bother to try it and will stick with the internet.com apn since it's working. Would be interesting to know if there's a speed difference depending on which APN you're using…

I vaguely recall finding those settings in some Rogers forum I stumbled upon during my hours of hunting for a solution. I figured I'd try the settings that were posted considering I had absolutely no luck with any other setup I tried. Similar to your experience they worked for me.

During my struggle to get the 'open' data to work I even called customer service and asked them what the specific profile setting for an Iphone is considering on the website the company advertises that the service and an Iphone are compatible. I was told to use the settings as detailed on the website - I said they don't work or I'm not entering them correctly – the response back to me was they DO work and use them as they are - I said walk me through the steps please – the response back was you have all you need per the website info. This back and forth went on for a few minutes until I gave up.

I am still puzzled why some people are stating they are getting the data to work without a profile setting after resetting and popping their sim out and back in. Tried this with no success.

Just an update - I did load the following via the Iphone config. utility, completed a hard reset and had success:

APN: internet.com
User Name: 'left blank'
Password: wap
Proxy Server: 'left blank'
Port: 'left blank'

I had no luck with any other setup I found posted in the forums.

Thanks for these setttings, they worked for me on an iPhone 5. Tried the rogers-core-appl1.apn so many times with no luck. Also tried having the phone pick up the apn didn't work.
Curious as to where you found these settings?
