I think I know the answer, but...if I try to cut down my micro SIM to an iPhone 5's nano SIM size, and somehow wind up damaging it, I don't lose the funds in my Speakout account, right? I'd just have to take the spare Speakout SIM I have, cut it down (properly, I assume, having learned my lesson!), and call them to have the funds in my account associated with my new SIM?

Correct. Just transfer the funds to the new sim. Measure twice, cut once :)

Great, thanks :) I'm going to measure three times! It's too bad Speakout doesn't make nano SIMs available, especially with so many iPhones floating around. I know they're unsupported, but how many subscribers would Speakout get if they WERE supported, I wonder?

Rather than using scissors go and buy a SIM cutter. I think I paid less than $ 10.00 for one. Not only that it came with adapters so if you wanted to go back to the original size you could.

Might want to check local Cell phone shops. A friend of mine took his SIM card to a small shop, and for $2, and 2 minutes, they cut it down for him

Thanks everyone. I managed to cut down the SIM to nano size using a template from the internet and scissors. Used a standard nail file to file down the last little bits around the edges. Fits perfectly. No filing of the back of it needed.

"...with so many iPhones floating around."

A lot of the new Blackberries utilize nano sims !

SO should step up and offer these now also, imho

That said they must figure new phones = $$$, and the owners are of the demographic that do not utilize SO ?!
