I have a European phone also, in which 1900 mhz is the only usable frequency. In Halifax, and other select areas of Nova Scotia, I have had no problems at all with this one frequency. Some FIDO phones only work on that frequency also, and the service works all over Canada using Roger's towers. So I am going to say there is a very good chance that your phone will just work, with no issues.
