You won't get that message when the reception is bad. The message you will see is "No Network Coverage", or something similar. I suggest trying the sim in a different phone to see if you can replicate the message. If it works fine in another phone then your sim card is bad.

OfflineI am experiencing the same "lost simcard registration" problem and have to switch the phone off and back on. Tried cleaning/ resetting the simcard with no luck - contacts seem fine. The problem is escalating from weekly to daily.
I called SO customer service and they did the try another phone routine. Not too practical for an intermittent problem. They also denied it being a common problem.
If this is commonly the sim card, how do I force them to replace it? Less than a year old.
