Just confirming a nice feature. You can remove voicemail by calling 611 and it will be completely removed within minutes. I was told I can add it back at any time. Why would I want to remove it? Because I only give out my Vonage number and never my cell. I've had multiple cell phones over the years and never need to tell anyone when that changes. Vonage can forward or simul-ring multiple numbers so I just plug in whatever cell phone I'm using and I only have one single phone number to give out.

I had Virgin but they could not disable voicemail. I had FIDO next because incoming calls were free on my plan but the monthly costs were still excessive especially when I wasn't home. This service is great and if not for this forum I'm not sure I would have ever had the information to go and cancel my plan and buy a phone from a 711 store. Thank you.

Now, Vonage takes my messages when I can't pick up either phone. Perfect.

I also don't give my cell number to anyone. Except to my wife. But I don't remove my voice-mail either. I don't get your reasoning but if it works for you then go for it.
