Hi,

I recently purchased a SO sim card with a 403 (Alberta) area code and SIM activated phone number. I can call out without any problem but incoming callers need to dial 1 + area code + number. Is there any fix so that access to my number is possible without dialing long distance? My location happens to be in Alberta and my phone is a Motorola V551. FWIW, the person who I purchased the SIM card from lived in a different city in Alberta. I was previously on a Rogers plan before I switched to SO.

TIA.

Art

Sorry,

I should have clarified in my original post that local callers in my immediate area are required to dial long distance in order to reach me.

Call SO customer service and ask. From the sounds of it the two locations are LD to each other on conventional phone systems. By contrast, since all numbers in an area code are local to SO, when you call out it's local. Perhaps SO can do something to associate your 403 number with an exchange that's local to your location.

Thanks bylo. Called CS and they hooked me up with a new number that now works for my local calling area. They even waived the $15 charge. Works fine now.
