I am going to Fido tomorrow to change to their Unlimited service + 2GB.

Is it difficult to port the number over? How long would it take? Also, while the number is being ported over, I can still use the SO sim, until it's fully ported on the Fido, right? I'm looking at the other thread, and it says I need my IMEI number. My Galaxy S3 IMEI number or is there an IMEI number with SO sim?

I have $20 left on my SO account, can I transfer that over to another SO account? Or is that locked on? Not a big deal though, I don't care much.

no transfer of balance. you need the imei on SO record(not necessary your current phone, mine is the 1616 one) and give it to fido for security(ownership proof of number) reason.

What if I don't have the phone anymore? Can I contact speak out and they'll provide the IMEI number?

I just called Fido and they said the number is not allowed to be ported. Does anyone have any idea of what can be done?

I think I know what to do.

Port my number to Rogers. And then port the number to fido.

I went to Rogers and they said my number is already pending for port. WTF.

I'll wait till tomorrow, see what happens.

So this is what's happening:

I tried porting my Speakout Number to Fido while buying the new plan, I didn't have the IMEI number or w/e in person.

So once I had my Fido, I called Fido and asked to port my number. It gave them an error or something saying that the number isn't valid. I thought that was odd. The account number, being my phone number, was not valid as well.

So I go to Rogers to port my number there into a prepaid (thinking I can port it to Fido after). Rogers says my number is already pending for a port. WTF.

I called SO and they can't see anything on the account.

So I'm kind of lost. I'm going to wait until tomorrow. Maybe the person that activated my account sent a port request.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

I remember reading somehwere that the IMEI for SO is the actual phone number or something. I can't remember where I read that if it was on this forum or another. Good luck

no. imei one is the first one you activate with the number. you can ask them to update it via 611 call.

I'm at a loss right now.

Speakout doesn't know what's going on.

I can't port to Fido, invalid Account Number (my phone number even with the +1)

Rogers says my account is already pending a port.

The heck?
