Getting a new number for a 2nd hand SIM?

Hi all,

Provided that I have seen people selling unwanted sim here, and for most of the cases, the phone number was being ported out before the sim is put on sale.

I'm just wondering if anyone did succeed in getting a new number for the used sim?

I've gone through most of the porting threads here but no one seems to be sure about this issue... Hopefully someone has experience on this can share your answer? 🙂

This is one risk of buying "used" SIMs, SO or otherwise. If the original owner ported the original number that was assigned to that SIM then the SIM is useless because there is no longer any phone number associated with it. You might be able to convince a SO CSR to give you a new number but they are under no obligation to do so. And any airtime credit on that SIM also evaporated when the number was ported out.
