I use a *3825 to access my local police department. I also use *OPP (677) and * TAXI to contact those services on occasion.

Does anyone know if those star numbers still work

PS-If you have a S/O or Rogers phone can you please try a toll free * or # number and advise if they do work

Thanks
Chris

Do the star and pound numbers work on these phones?

Yes, they work just like a regular phone. You do have to press *777 to check your balance and expiry date for example.

Called Speakout customer service, and was told the toll free numbers DO NOT work for these phones. I asked if you could call *OPP and she said no, those numbers don't work.

Guess it they will not work for me then

I call toll free numbers every day on my phone, with no problems. Some * numbers might not work, such as *OPP, but calling toll-free number certainly work.

I guess I should have clarified "toll free" by saying airtime free. I make use of 'Star' and 'Pound' numbers a fare amount.

I was just hoping that someone could try a few to see if they work.. ie *TAXI or *OPP or even better yet *CLUE

Thanks

I don't think any of these short numbers work. My two failed experiences were when I tried #TAXI and also the Vancouver transit shortcode (that's text messaging, but still relevant).
