I've successfully transferred to a micro-sim card purchase from 7-11, and now I wonder if I still can use the old sim card? The micro-sim I bought has an activation code on it, does transfering mean a card swapping? so can I treat my old sim card as the new card with activation code?

After transferring, the old SIM card is dead and useless.

Yes. Just as Bridonca said. Once you transfer the account information to the new card, the old card is garbage and deactivated.
