I have both a virgin phone and a speakout phone. I keep getting a 1-800 callbot calling my virgin phone that I can't seem to stop. I called virgin to ask that they block any further calls and they claim they cannot and that I should switch numbers. I would rather switch providers and keep my number. Does speakout allow you to block certain callers?

i doubt any provider would do that. google voice has recently introduced that though but it really is more like a PBX level thing.

So my only real option is to change numbers or perhaps get a 'smart' phone that can ring silent based on call display numbers. Seems weird that we have to pay for answering calls and we can't restrict who is allowed to call us.

that is always the case since my first mobile phone. I only pick up calls for number I know and ignore all 1-800 and the like numbers.
