Will a 7-11 Speakout SIM card work on a different speakout phone purchased from Petro Canada?

If it's a phone purchased from Petro Canada. then it's a Petro Canada phone, not a Speakout phone.

However, a SpeakOut SIM card will work in a Petro Canada phone.

Although, SpeakOut (7-Eleven) and Petro Canada are both run by Ztar Mobile and on the Rogers network, they are two different businesses.

For instance, if you sign up with SpeakOut, you have to use a SpeakOut sim card, and use SpeakOut top up vouchers. SpeakOut and Petro Canada sim cards/top up vouchers are not interchangeable.

We gladly welcome you to the site, but encourage you to do lots of reading on the home page of this site, and either the official SpeakOut site, or the Petro Canada site, if you join them. There is lots of good reading there.

I already have a speakout phone . but I'm interested in getting a N2220 .

I am aware you can't use a petro Can card with a 7-11 speakout phone. I like the speakout service and am going to stay with it. but I would like to purchase my new phone from Petro Can because of A) the price difference and B) colour and use the SIM from my speakout phone

Oh ok. I see what you mean

You can always buy the Petro Canada phone package, and sell the sim card on this site. May people do that here.

I have always known SpeakOut sim cards to work in Petro Canada phones, however nothing is guaranteed.

well thanks for your help and if it doesn't work there's always a 15 day return policy. but one last question.. do you have to buy a rate plan with the petro Canada phones or can you simply purchase a phone

I am unfamiliar with Petro Canada, as I have never used them. I would take a look at their site to find the answer. If it's anything like SpeakOut though, you should be able to just buy the phone.

You do not need to buy a rate plan with Petro Canada. It is a lot like Speak out, $0.25 a minute, and a $1.25 system access fee. I believe the $25 card expire in 120 days, and not a year like Speakout.
