Some thanks on Thanksgiving...

Thanks to people like iamdrumming and Big Ang for using the "Report Post" feature to help me moderate the forum 😀

You are very welcome. I hope you and yours have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!! I have a feeling by tonight there will be millions of Canadians getting very sleepy by all the turkey we've eaten. 🙂

You should get some volunteer mods to help out.

Yes, I'm currently considering opening up registration. But maybe I could start with registration only for mods to start. Thoughts?

That would be cool especialy for private messages for sales (then you wouldnt have to put your email).

Registration is now open. You can't claim the many posts you've made in the past... but now you have fun features such as subscribing to topics, private messaging, and profile info 😀

I just registered. Anyone who's a regular here, or has this great site bookmarked should register too.

I just signed up aswell. To let everyone know caps in your username do matter (my R is a capital and if I try to login with it in lowercase it does not work)

I find that case-sensitive username functionality to be a bit bothersome. I understand enforcing case-sensitive passwords, but not case-sensitive usernames. Anyway, I've tweaked the authentication code to allow any case usernames now.

It would be cool to have a feedback forum within the Phone Exchange forum.

Although I rarely post, I have this site bookmarked and when I saw iamdrumming's suggestion I says to myself, "Good idea". Thanks for making all this possible Peter.

I was initially thinking that I wouldn't go near the feedback forum idea, but I've managed to hammer out some barebones functionality.

In the phone exchange forum, all registered members will have a "View feedback" link under their name. Also, if you are logged in, you will see "Leave feedback" links as well. Any registered member (giver) will be able to leave feedback for any other registered member (receiver), relating to any topic in the phone exchange forum in which the receiver has posted. Unfortunately this is not retro-active, so you can't give and receive feedback for items when everybody posted as a guest.

Give it a try -- log in, find a post in the phone exchange forum in which I have posted (such as this one), and leave some made-up feedback. You'll notice that feedback profiles will show a list of feedback items, but will not show a tallies of how many positive, negative, or neutral feedback items have been given. This is done purposely, as I think that reading someone's overall feedback profile is more useful.
