Yesterday, I bought a Nokia 1611, got the $100 airtime so the phone was free. The over-phone activation was quick, painless, and I could actually understand the automated lady (usually they are all muffled). I inserted the SIM into my iPhone 3G (some people say they are banned???) And today, I called CS twice - to activate 2500 msgs and for unltd browser. Both of the ladies were very helpful and I was answered with practically NO wait time. Also, with SO 3G speeds, my iPhone runs in like top condition - with the exception of some images and some apps. Anyways, if any people contemplating switching to SO, I totally recommend it!
