The Good:
I've been a Speakout customer for over 12 years. I don't use a cell phone very often so a $25 voucher usually lasts me about six months. I used the same "free" Speakout dumb phone for about 10 years (it still works and the battery holds a charge!). My wife has been a Speakout customer longer than me. She uses a flip phone and has used the same sim and phone number for about 15 years without any issues. When I changed phones a couple of years ago I trimmed my original sim down to a micro and carried on with the same phone number.
The Bad:
My problem started when I bought a phone that needs a nano sim. I bought a new "multi" sim rather than risk further trimming the old sim. I followed the transfer procedure to move my existing phone number to the new sim. Unfortunately this required me to phone "Customer Service". Speakout customer service doesn't just suck, it seems it doesn't actually EXIST! If there is a human at "Customer Service" it appears their sole purpose is to disconnect callers (or at least me). After about three weeks of phoning I gave up. My old phone sim/phone had run out of time so I activated the new sim online and put $25 on it so I had a cell phone to use. Now I have a new phone number. I completed the online complaint form two weeks ago and have still received no response.
Despite the complete lack of customer service I am not ready to give up on Speakout. As they say "the evil you know........".
In the movies the gangsters refer to pay-as-you-go phones as "burners". They use them once, burn the sim and throw the phone in the river. I'm not throwing my phone in the river but if ever need to phone Speakout "customer service" again I'll have matches ready.

So this means that you lost any credit you had left on your old SIM?

I never had that problem with customer service when I changed sims. I also had to get a nano sim when I bought a used Samsung Galaxy S6. I also bought the "multi-sim", and called into customer service to transfer everything to the new sim. They answered in less than 2 minutes, and everything went flawless. Just my experience...

You stated that you have been a SpeakOut customer for over 12 years (longer than me), yet this is your one and only post in the SpeakOut forum? Just another one post wonder with an "honest review". How many of those have we seen in the last while?

SpeakOut Canada only started in November 2005, which is only 12 years, 3 months ago. You also state that "My wife has been a Speakout customer longer than me." You stated she has used the same SpeakOut sim for "about 15 years." So, she must have been a SpeakOut customer even before SpeakOut Wireless Canada was even in business?

Your "review" is highly suspect...
