I was reading the terms and conditions on speakout website and found this.

"Text Messaging and Wireless Web service (coming soon) are automatically included on your rate plan for no monthly charge. "

Online service is going to be up soon. 🙂

Good find! Just another way to quickly deplete our account balances 🙂

Interesting, gotta check out the website again for this tidbit.

I've experimented with downloading "settings" from the Nokia Canada website to my Nokia 5200. Ordering settings and receiving via txt message are free of charge. Simply supply the model of your phone and wireless carrier.

I've only downloaded the "basic settings": one for MMS [multimedia messaging--wonder how much such messages cost to receive/send?] and another for an online store. The online store profile is identical to the one already preset to my phone, it's just named differently.

There are advanced settings that can be ordered and they have to do with internet activities--like online passwords and access to email... I haven't ordered those.

The full story: Text Messaging and Wireless Web service (coming soon) are automatically included on your rate plan for no monthly charge. Just pay as you use. As noted above, there is a charge per message sent or received, whether read or unread, solicited or unsolicited. Wireless Web usage for each billing record will be rounded up to the next kilobyte in addition for the cost of the Content Downloaded. In some cases our network will re-send data packets to ensure complete delivery. You will be billed for these re-sent packets. The terms of Wireless Web may be viewed at http://www.7-Eleven.com. Your use of Text Messaging and Wireless Web acknowledges your agreement to these terms. Other restrictions apply.

Sounds pricey. They must currently be negotiating the costing/delivery of this service with Rogers. And it definitely won't be X cents per page, but by the kilobyte.
