I currently have a Rogers Samsung Note 1 that I have been using for a few years on Speakout. No Data, just Talk and Text.

I got a Rogers LG G3 the other day and put in my SIM card. The LG G3 searches for a network and say Unregistered SIM on the lock screen.

Since I changed phones, do I need to get a new sim card and activate it with the LG G3's IMEI number in order for it to work?

As a side note, the APN's on both phones are exactly the same.

Thanks for your help.

Shouldn't need to do that. The SIM should work. Did you try to manually choose the network?

It wouldn't let me manually select the APN. There was no radio button beside the newly created apn, just the existing apn had the button which was green and it wouldn't let me turn if off.

The obvious question is, is the Rogers LG G3 unlocked? Though I understand you should be able to switch from SO to Rogers and visa versa.

I don't believe what I was referring to is APN. I have both APN which is internet/data related and also "network provider" I have had to search for network provider or play with that with different sim cards on networks.

As you aren't using data, then you don't need to mess with the APN. Leave it alone.

Normally, the sim card should just work, as Speakout and Rogers are the same network. The message you are getting on your screen is not the one you get if the phone is locked to another carrier's network.

Make sure the phone is set to 3g and not something like LTE. Follow Dennis's advice regarding 'network provider'. Good luck.

"Unregistered sim" on Rogers is likely referring to a blacklisted phone. Was the phone known to be working before you start using it on SO?
