First time user of data on 711 network. I went into the online account and activated the feature. After 30min I am still not connected to the data network. I have created a APN using the settings provided by the 711 faq; enabled data (setting->mobile networks->data enabled). Is there something else I am missing?

p.s. when I enabled data, it says the system will send me a text message but I never get it. I assume 30min is a long enough time to provision data on the network.

I think it took a couple of hours the first time. Does your Speakout account show data activated?

If it's working you should see a data symbol like "HSPA+" appearing next to the cellular signal strength icon (assuming you are in HSPA+ coverage from Rogers), and in the Moto G's swipedown status menu the cellular connection icon should be white rather than orange (orange indicates an internet connection problem).

When creatilng an APN, the only entry you have to make is APN: internet.com. Works for me on my Moto G. Also, make sure that this APN is selected by pressing the radio button.

I also have a moto G 2nd Gen and I recently got it work, I'll keep you updated in case it stops working. I did this with the assistance of Moto G tech support. After setting up the network and clicking the radial button as suggested above, I was instructed to then power off and power back on the phone. Some how that worked, so don't dismiss it in your casess. I see a H+ symbol next to the signal strength when WIFI is turned off.

I followed these instructions:

Good luck, I hope you're able to get it to work too.
