For $10 I bought a 7-11 phone expecting to open it up and add a new SIM from another company. The phone was sealed. Now that I know that the 7-11 phone plans are good value I want to retrieve it from the dumpster. Can I take it to 7-11 and have them activate somehow and save me the price of the phone?

Go to a 7-Eleven store and buy a new sim card for $10. They don't do the activation in the store. Rather, go home and follow the instructions to create an on-line account and activate it on-line. From your account, you can then purchase credit and you are good to go.

But this sounds like it deviates from my other purpose of privacy. I don't want to deal with anything online. See reply to your other post.

If you don't want to deal with anything online, but your sim card and top-ups at a retail 7-Eleven.
