Battery on Nokia 1600?

Hi all. I got the Nokia 1600 at the beginning of September, and I love it and the great 7/11 service. Way to go.

But the blurb says that the battery will retain a useful charge for "up to 18 days" which is excellent, but in practice, as a VERY low user (like, six SMS per week, one two-minute call per week, and my phone is only actually ON for 12 hours per day) I have to recharge the thing every three or four (no more) days. Is this normal?

Try completely discharging the battery -- let the phone beep, for 2 days until it shuts off, then turn it ON, and again let it go OFF on its own (repeat few times if it takes a while for the phone to go OFF)... then charge the battery, see if that helps.

I thought you weren't supposed to do that with Li-Ion batteries?

I have had this phone for a few months and am getting excellent battery life, close to the 18 days as an emergency phone in the car.

I've never had that problem with the 1600 and I keep it on 24/7
