OfflineThe link provided by the OP (http://www.gsmliberty.net/shop.....unlock.php) seems to be able to generate an unlock code for the Nokia 5130. Does anyone know if this would actually work for Nokia 5130 locked by SO (saying for choosing Rogers as the carrier)? I am considering buying one of the SO phones and my preference would be picking a phone that can be unlocked. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well tried those codes for my old Nokia 1600, didn't read carefully, hard locked after 5 bad codes so becareful if anyone trying to unlock the 1661
Has anyone tried those Unlocking SIM selling for afew bucks on ebay? Just wonder how reliable are them.
Funny you should ask. I got one for $3, and so far, it looks to be $3 wasted. I used it on a Bell Nokia 2730. The SIM lock is bypassed, but the radio does not work, so it is kind of useless. I do not have any other locked phones in my inventory. I regret selling my locked FIDO phone now!

OfflineFor a fee, some service providers will even give you the unlock code for your phone. There are also third party companies that provide cell phone unlock codes for a fee that ranges from $5 to about $25, depending on the model of phone you have. i will suggest the website TheUnlockSpot.com which is doing good service …..you can approach this website.

Nokia 2730 from Bell is very hard to unlock. Most unlocking sites will tell you this phone is not supported. But this site may work.

OfflineThe Bell Nokia 2730 is a particularly nasty phone. It is double locked. The carrier lock is about all an unlocker can do to make this phone work with the other carriers. However there is another nasty lock which controls the APN settings that also needs to be addressed. I do not believe there is an unlock code for the APN settings of the Bell Nokia 2730. So the phone will only work with Bell and President's Choice Mobile SIM cards. It is not practical to unlock this phone.
As with most other Bell phones, the Bell Nokia 2730 comes crammed with useless fecal matter you cannot get rid of. As a bonus, it crippled the phones features also well. Nice.

OfflineDepending on where you live, in most asian type malls there will be at least one kiosk offering unlocking.
In the GTA there must be literally hundreds who will unlock a phone. The Pickering fleamarket has one large kiosk in just about the center where they offer unlocking, jailbreaking etc.
I had once bought a Telus Motorola phone with a SIM card, but that was impossible to unlock and the Telus SIM card was only to let you use the phone abroad paying high per minute charges.
My previous cell phone carrier, WIND, after you were with them for 3 months you could get the unlock code for FREE from them!
