(not sure if this is the right/best sub-forum - please move if not.)
I have a Nokia 1112 with basic SO prepaid. Phone originally came free as part of the free phone promotion with $100 airtime purchase many years ago. That phone will not work when 2G shuts down, which will/can happen pretty quick. I currently have over $100 credit with SO.
Is there any way I can trade the credit for a free phone with SO? They haven’t had a free phone promo for a long time now. Basically, unless I can get a free working phone from SO, I will be leaving them…

No they don't exchange phones. Just get a new(er) phone, and put your sim card in there. They don't trade credit either. You don't need a phone SO sells, just pick up an unlocked phone (or a phone that's locked to Rogers).
