I went to Seattle today and verified that SO phones have no service in US.

However, the other Virgin phone showed roaming service in Seattle.

Do you know what the roaming charges are? Same for Rogers PAYG. You probably won't be impressed.

Roaming fees are probably very high for all Canadian cellphone providers. If you are a frequent traveller to the US, then you'll probably want to pick up a separate cellphone. If you are an infrequent traveller, then you'll be glad it works the one time that you'll need it.

How did you get roaming service on a Virgin phone? Their website says that their phones do not work outside of Canada. They are planning to offer it as a new service this year, but it has not been announced yet.

If you try to use your Virgin phone on the other side of the border, a Verizon operator will ask you for your credit card number.
