Just discovered this forum, A wealth of information!

I have a question, not sure if I placed it in the right category but here go's.

I heard a lot of good things about 7 11speakout, but wondering how does it stack up against Rogers 1 cent evenings and weekends? with a $100 card it is good for a year I believe.

A lot of people speak negatively about Rogers, so I wonder, am I missing something, or is there some hidden scam to the 1 cent evenings and weekends plan?

rogers and speakout use the same network. so what is left is service and for most prepaid, service is not a big issue.

with that gone, you have to compare which net you less money for your usage pattern, no one can tell but yourself.

for me SO is better because I seldom make calls(so cheaper to keep a number when needed).

I see the rogers web is still the confusing mess as ever. If the plan is to believed, I can see how the rogers 1 cent plan could be better, especially if you are a night owl. I have not been personally screwed that badly with Rogers, but that may have been my brief encounter with them, than anything. Bad looking web sites scare me. It seems to be a good indicator on how badly the company will treat you.

I do not see any nasty gotchas, other than the 39 cent a minute off time minutes. The data options are pretty awful. As chimpanzee said, if it suits your usage patterns, great. I probably will not jump at this deal though.

I used to be on the rogers one cent eve and wkends but decided to switch to SO a couple of years ago. Rogers was Ok but I didn't like the 39 cents/min for daytime use, also they charged for long distance whereas SO has a huge callling area, for me that was an advantage as I work outside of my area code. Speakout has improved over the past year by providing online top ups, purchases and value plans, it just keeps getting better.
