FiGO Ultra (5)
CA$79.99
* $40 off with $100 Top Up purchase

https://www.speakout7eleven.ca/promotions/
Valid dates: 09/05/18 – 11/05/18. While supplies last. Activation credit valid when activating a new 7-Eleven SpeakOut SIM card on a new FIGO device. Must activate account with new SIM card ICCID and FIGO IMEI. $10 account credit will be automatically added after successful activation during the promotion period. Cannot be combined with any other offer.

I was a little confused about the pricing as the FiGO Ultra (5) currently lists for $79.99 but was previously was listed for CA$109.99 in August. Wasn't sure if the price shown now included the discount so I added the phone and $100 topup to my cart and it totaled up to $146.99 (tax in). It appears that you get the phone for only $39.99 (tax out)

Still don't know about the '$10 account credit'??

The $10 activation credit is pretty standard when buying a phone. When I set everything up, the $10 credit showed up on my online account. It is useful for those who just buy the phone and SIM if they don't buy a voucher at the store. It would let someone make a few calls while they decide what, if any, plan they want and either buy a voucher online or go with automatic top-ups.

Ended up getting this deal as my old FiGo has seen better days and I wanted the larger screen. So for $139.99 (plus tax) got the phone and the $100 top up voucher PIN which I'll save until another +$25 activation credit deal is on. I did not buy the SIM so did not get the $10 activation credit.

As usual the sales clerks were clueless about the deal despite the posters in the stores. My local store in my town (pop 10000) said they hadn't stocked any cell phones for a while so I picked it up in Edmonton while there for Thanksgiving.

As with my first phone I had to physically show the clerk the poster after which they disappeared into the back for a few minutes, I'm guessing to check with the manager. Not a fast process but in the end I got the advertised price. As the gas bar at this store was ESSO I also got some PC Optimum points.

I like the phone so far.

Thanks for mentioning PC Points! Another great thing about the 7-Eleven ESSO combo stores, is that if the 7-Eleven staff manage the Tim Horton's coffee area, that coffee will qualify for every 7th free, if you have the 7-Eleven app or card. (According to the store staff.)
