Overcharged for Voicemail?

Just a warning for those out there using voicemail, I got a call on my phone but didn't answer, and then I got the new message alert immediately after. Since it was so immediate, I knew they hadn't actually left a message, just hung up. I called them back to confirm this, and then deleted the message.

Anyway, I checked my balance after this and it was down by 60 cents. I thought at a maximum for a less than 1 minute message it should be 20 cents. So I called customer service and they said they recorded a 3 minute message! I told them that was impossible and luckily enough they were able to refund my 60 cents. But I now wonder how many other times this has happened to me without me realizing it and how many dollars have been flushed down the drain because of voicemail. So I asked them to just disable my voicemail entirely.

Anyone else experience this? Maybe you should check just to be sure.

I thought Voice Mail was free wi Speak Out, as long as you access it with a land-line phone and not your mobile.
