This forum keeps telling me my math is incorrect. Very frustrating.

Anyways, let's try again: I was just wondering if the cost to transfer a number with Petro-Can mobile is the same as with Speak Out ($10)?

There's no cost listed on their website, they make it sound free.

It is free, I will do that in the next days, from Fido to Speakout. I will update you than.

Just transfered a Vancouver 604 number to a Victoria 250 number yesterday.

Free --- gotta love it.

All they asked me to do was to turn my cell phone off for 20-30 min then turn it back on.

Even with non-Rogers/Fido numbers?

Yes. See the FAQ under Porting Numbers.

FWIW, I transferred fine from Virgin to 7-11. No idea how long it actually took, but I turned the phone on after 2 hours and it was done.
