A quick question.

My Dad is in Toronto now and brought his cell phone from the U.S. (U.S. plan).
I will be driving to TO tomorrow.
Will I be able to call him on his cell phone?
If so, will I be charged the usual 25 cents/min.?

Thanks!

I believe you will be charged 45 cents a minute or something like that plus 25 cents airtime to call a US number, no matter where the US number is. I forget what the LD charge is exactly.

But keep in mind, your father might be charged a huge amount, maybe $2 a minute, maybe higher, for roaming in Canada with a US phone. Or he might not even get cell phone coverage here, depending on what plan he is subscribed to.

If your father has an unlocked phone, he should get a Petro Canada or Speakout SIM card. That will be easier on the cost for everyone involved.
