That particular phone number that Speakout assigned to you could be somewhat recent, and Magicjack did not update their CO Code Status list. I would contact Magicjack and get them to update their list.

I can't see how SpeakOut would or could block a number from Magic Jack, or any other provider, VOIP or otherwise. That would be illegal. Magic Jack isn't a direct competitor of SpeakOut. SpeakOut is strictly a wireless provider.

I would highly doubt it. Majicjack is fairly new technology, and I don't see why Speakout or any other carrier would care. Probably something just got fixed during the porting process.

BTW, you wouldn't happen to be Shawn King from "Your Mac Life" would you?

Wasn't sure where to post this, so I apologize if its in the wrong spot. I just cancelled my Bell mobility contract and got a speakout phone. When I tried to call the speakout number using my majicjack the call wouldn't connect. After a couple days, my old bell number was ported over to speakout and everything works fine now. Does Speakout/Rogers block their numbers from being called by majicjack? Do they do this because they don't want the competition? is there anyway to get your number to work with majicjack?

thanks for any experiences you can share
