        	        	<description><![CDATA[<p>Actually, you NEVER cancel the number at all. It's called porting. Since your contract with Telus is done, you don't have to call them at all.</p>
<p>Just call SpeakOut customer service, and tell them you would like to port your number from Telus to them. They will take care of the rest.</p>

        	        	<description><![CDATA[<p>My contract with Telus just expired and I'm considering switching to Speakout Wireless or Petro-Canada Mobility.</p>
<p>I'm not really satisfied by any of the phone offerings of either company, so I think I'll buy an unlocked GSM phone with a qwerty keyboard.  That's not really important though.  What I'm wondering about is keeping my existing Telus cell phone number.  Do I have to cancel with Telus first and then join Speakout or Petro-Canada?  Do I have to tell Telus that I'm transferring to a different service when I cancel?</p>
