From what I gather, you would have to root the Android phone to get applications to work through a proxy. I wish I could help you more on that issue, but I am not putting as much attention to the X10 than I thought I would, I am vacillating on whether to wait for the official Sony 2.3 update in the summer, or use the beta 2.2 unsupported update. In the meantime, my so called inferior Nokia E71 is still doing a lot to keep me amused.

I think it would be more realistic to get a phone that can work with the Rogers proxy. I was doing a little research with Android, and you have to root the phone to get apps the work through a proxy. When my Sony X10 can reliably run 2.2, I will try out my speakout sim on it.. Interestingly, legacy phones like Nokia are a lot more friendly to proxies.

Yeah, the President's Choice Mobile website is pretty useless when it comes to getting useful information. Might not too be too hard to believe, but this forum seems to be where one get's the best info! As for getting a President's Choice Mobile SIM, go to your Loblaws affiliated store and see if they sell the SIM cards, and if they do not, talk to the manager to see if they can get them in stock. I can only say they have them here in Halifax.

If you are in an area that has good Bell coverage, you might want to plunk down $10 for a President's choice Mobile SIM. You get $10 credit, and the web browsing experience is a bit less restrictive.
