Bumping this to confirm. I got speakout on October 28, 2015 and was using shortcodes (33333 TransLink) the next day. Originally the lack of support was a dealbreaker, but I saw varied accounts on the forums, so I went for it.

Some SMS short codes now work with SO. I've used Edmonton Transit (31100) and Translink (33333).
