Does anyone know whether Speakout allows text messaging from skype? I can't get it to work and I am wondering where the problem is.

AFAIK, only straight phone to phone texting will work.

You can send sms messages from yahoo messenger to a speakout phone. I just tested it today. You cannot however send messages back to yahoo messenger. It says the number is not in use.
Also it doesn't cost anything to receive messages from yahoo messenger. I was very surprised by that. I checked my balance before and after receiving two messages.

i was able to send to my speakout phone but after a few sms it stopped sending in messenger with an error message saying "Note: Phone number xxxxxxxxxx cannot receive SMS messages at this time" by reading online people are saying to reply but i cannot reply to any of my sms obviously, help.....

I didn't see this when you first posted it but I can confirm that SMS texts sent from Skype don't get to a SO phone. I don't think the problem is with Skype because it accepts my test SMS texts and debits my account for them, yet they never arrive at my SO phone.
I wonder if anyone has been able to send SMS to a Rogers cellphone using Skype.
