Did you successfully upload a mp3 file and make it as ringtone?

I tried a mp3 file of size around 100k and still didn't work.

can put mp3 files on the phone which plays, but the "use as tone" is grayed out, then it says something about an "activation key" error.

amr's work fine, but sound is utter crap.

My phone allows me upload mp3 files but not used as ringtone 🙁

I know I can use amr file as ringtone but the sound quality is poor.

I sent an email to Nokia asking for this. They said the feature was locked by the service provider.

Anyone knows how to unlock the feature for setting custom mp3 file as ringtones?

I just purchased a Nokia 2760 from 7-11 and the ringtones suck (in my opinion). So I tried to use the web feature on the phone to download the ringtones from the home page. I choose download and then the screen turns white and nothing downloads. Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how to download ringtones?

Also, is it possible to add your own ringtone to the phone and how would I upload it? Thanks.
