I've been told that with the monthly rogers plan that they will refund you the account balance when you port your number out. Its treated differently than pay as you go.

Hope so because I called another csr and was able to transfer the balance to a rogers monthly plan. Now I get a speakout phone and set up speakout account. and then in about 2 weeks or whatever i will port the rogers number to speakout and get a refund check from rogers.

Once you port your number to SpeakOut, your Rogers balance will be gone forever, because once you transfer the number, the account and balance associated with Rogers is dead. You can not transfer balances between any companies.

Does anyone know of a working strategy to preserve your prepaid balance at rogers when porting over to speakout?

Someone said to switch to a monthly plan at rogers and transfer in your pay as you go balance.
They said rogers would send you a check for your balance when you port over to speakout.

I called rogers and they said i could not transfer my pay as you go balance to a monthly rogers plan.

Any thoughts? thanks.
