Okay, I figured it out. As another forum said, Settings > Restore Factory set., fixes it. I didn't lose any contact information after doing this. Whew.

I just got the Nokia 1661 on Boxing Day and this same problem has happened to me, my phone doesn't ring when I get an incoming call. Menu > Settings > Tone settings > Ringing tone (and then it goes back to the Nokia start up screen). Very frustrating.

Abbygirl, were you successful exchanging your phone? Or did you fix this problem some how?

Sounds like you have a defective phone. No, you will not lose airtime by returning the phone, since the airtime (and your identity) is tied to the sim card, and not the phone.

I recently got NOKIA 1661 with the latest promotion of airtime. do not use the phone much, just to call my husband from the highway whether I am going to be late or not ( due to traffic). In the last two days discovered that I can not receive any incoming calls! I went through the ringing volume, the profile ( no, it is not on "silence", I switched it to "Loud" and tried "normal"), but whenever the call is coming the display lights and I see the number but there is no sound. At the bottom right corner the word "silence" comes up...and then I get the message " missed call"...Just call the customer service, they do not know whet else to do< ill try to investigate...
Has anyone have any suggestions?
If I take the phone back for exchange, will I lose all the airtime and have to buy another voucher?
Thanks
