I called and they said if it's under warranty, they're supposed to exchange it since the phone can't work. I also asked if the phone # has been used before and it hasn't. The manager won't be in until Monday so I will try again then. Thanks for your help!

Before you give up call SO CS and tell them what happened. SIMs aren't expensive so they may be willing to send you a free replacement.

One more thing. On the cover of the Quick Start booklet that came in the SO 1600 box should be a large sticker with your phone number and voicemail password. The SO CS people should be able to determine if anyone has used that phone number since November. If the number has been used then that should provide evidence that someone else has your SIM, i.e. that it was never in your box.

I bought Nokia 1600 phone in November but tried to activate the phone now and discovered it didn't have a sim card. I went back to 7-11 and they wouldn't give me a refund because I didn't catch this in 10 days. Did I just lose out here?
