I've already got myself a Nokia 1600 2 weeks ago. This 2nd phone is for my mom. I'll switch her from $10 per month prepaid on Fido to this.

My 1600 also came with a 604 numer, but 604-560. The new one I've just bought has 604-506. Perhaps they are using some recycled numbers?

Though, with mine so far (2 weeks), I have not got any erroneous call/msg. Perhaps I'm just lucky.

Prior to your posting, I went out the morning and bought an 2610 out of frustration that I could not find any 1600 in over 10 7-11 stores. That phone has 778 area code instead of 604.

Now I need to return the 2610...

I'm thinking if I should keep my current 778 areacode or switch over to the 604 area code and take the risk of getting spam or wrong numbers. Any comments?
