For example it's long distance from Markham to Mississauga even though both communities are in the GTA. However calls from Markham to 416 are local. So you may prefer to keep your 416 number in part as a courtesy to those who call you on it. And of course, the fewer times you change your number the fewer hassles you and your callers will have in remembering it.
