I ported two numbers out of Wind in December and didn't have any issues. I just got my account number from the Wind website and gave that to the CSR for porting. But, after I ported the first number, I couldn't login to the Wind website anymore. Luckily, I had wrote down the account number.

Thanks guys! Alright, I think my number will just have to go then. I can't just dump $130, simply not worth it to me. Plus, it will be less hassle in terms of porting too. I'll send a text to all my contacts to let them know what my new number is too. Thanks

Exactly as the other posters have said. You can not transfer airtime. Period. Once you port the number out, the old account is deactivated, and all money on it is gone for good.

That's my understanding too. The phone number and topup kind of go together with the sim card.

Also, you should know that some people, including me, have had major problems porting numbers between SO and Wind. You may want to check the forums for "horror stories" before you try that.
In my case I actually chose to abandon my number with Wind, I had so much trouble porting from them.
I just didn't want to deal with their so-called Customer Support anymore.

I'd never seen such incompetence in my life. That was last fall so hopefully they've done something about it since then, but I wouldn't count on it!

I think this question has come up before, and I'm pretty sure you cannot do what you want to do. The remaining airtime on your SIM will disappear when you port the phone number to Wind. Speak Out does not provide any method (at least not to users like us) of transferring an airtime balance to another Speak Out user or another Speak Out SIM.

I expect there is no technical reason why a balance could not be transferred, but it is just the way they have set up their business model. Sorry.

Hi guys,

So I'm planning to switch carriers (going with Wind). Thing is, I have $129 on my speakout phone, and I wouldn't want to see that go to waste. I would really love to keep my current number by porting it over to Wind. So how can I do this? Essentially, I want to port my number over to Wind, and sell my current sim card and its balance. Is this possible, and if so how?

Thank you for your time, I truly appreciate it
