Contacted FaceBook about this also. They responded and asked to contact the carrier and ask them to handle FaceBook's texts. Therefore, I get the impression this is more a SpeakOut issue by the sound of the response. Perhaps if there is enough interest, SpeakOut will consider adding this feature.

Have the same problem.
I've come to the conclusion that facebook and many other free texting sites don't support SpeakOut. I've reported it to facebook.

Hello all,
Got activated on SpeakOut today. Has anyone successfully made FaceBook Mobile work with SpeakOut. That is the feature where FB can text you when receiving wall posts, etc. It requires a carrier and SpeakOut isn't there. I selected Rogers but didn't receive the text.
