seems to me that your existing phone would work in Venezuela on the 850 band. (that is on Movistar).

I just got back from Colombia. I have an 850/1900 Nokia 1112b and it worked on Movistar in Colombia. (it actually worked on all 3 cell providers in Colombia, and it works on the Rogers network here in Canada) I bought this phone in Colombia for $30 brand new.

handy link for GSM bands in all the GSM countries:

I would like to exchange brand new Nokia 6061 GSM 850/1900 unlocked phone without SIM for any other new or used GSM 900/1800 unlocked phone without SIM. I got the Nokia with 7-11 deal and only needed SIM, so the phone was never used and it comes with box, manual, and charger. I am going away in January to Venezuela and that is why I need the phone that will work there.

Please e mail to maricai at rogers dot com, since I rarely check forum.
