Sending an SMS from another company's website where you must fill in your SO tel. number is looking for trouble. Once a company has your tel .no. who knows how many other companies will have it soon after.

I have used the Rogers website form to do this, but it's a pain to use.

Thanks!
I was successful with the following
http://websms.rogers.page.ca/2.....y/send.php

The msg was sent from 30600001.
It's not e-mail to SMS, but at least now I know you can do Web to SMS.

If anyone discovers a secret way to do e-mail to SMS please let us know!

After reading the FAQ I have concluded that there isn't a way to send e-mail to Speakout SMS without compromising your telephone number's integrity.

Only a xxxxxxxxxx@speakout.com or similar would be safe.

I'm sure they are 905.
It would have taken just as much time for you to type in the address (if there is one).
(Not the FAQ address, but the e-mail to SMS address)

Reply will likely not work, as the message you received comes from a short code (3050xxxx) which is not supported on SpeakOut.

Yes you are correct the message came from '30500001', whatever that means.
So my next question is: How do you send an e-mail text to a Speakout phone?

Most cell companies either allow you to send text messages directly form their website or using your e-mail software with addresses such as:

xxxxxxxxxxxx@pcs.rogers.com
xxxxxxxxxxxx@txt.bell.ca
etc.

TIA

I sent the e-mail from my e-mail account and sent it to my new Speakout tel. number using Roger's e-mail to SMS address (we are using Roger's network right?)
xxxxxxxxxx@pcs.rogers.com

A couple of minutes later I received this message on my Speakout phone:
"Welcome to Rogers Email to SMS
You have mail, but are not subscribed; reply 'Yes' to this message to subscribe."

What will happen if I Reply "Yes" (Any charges etc. etc.)
